the 58th ISOCARP World Congress will be held in Brussels

The Brussels-Capital Region has been selected as the host city for the 58th ISOCARP World Congress!

The news was officially announced during the closing ceremony of the 57th congress in Doha, Qatar.

From 3 to 7 October 2022, many activities will be organised around urban development and planning: guided tours, plenary sessions, workshops, walkshops and networking events will be on the programme of this annual event.

State Secretary Pascal Smet has been appointed by the government to host the congress. Urban will organise the congress in collaboration with Perspective and Brussels Environment, and with the support of visit.brussels.

The theme “From Wealthy to Healthy Cities” will allow a global debate on the evolution of post-covid cities and the role of health in urban development. The ISOCARP-congress (International Society of City and Regional Planners) will be an international exchange platform for planning and urban experts to share their knowledge to shape healthy and liveable cities.
