ArchiSols, for "Archives des Sols" (Soil Archives), is a co-creative research project funded by Innoviris and supported by various government bodies, centres of expertise and citizens' associations. Its aim is to optimise soil use in Brussels by exploring and documenting its qualitative diversity.
Today, information on soil quality is generally poor and difficult to access, even though a vast amount of "hidden" information, relating to the history and past uses of soils, is available in archives, literature and the collective memory.
The aim of the ArchiSols project is to reveal this wealth of history by creating an innovative collaborative platform that enables both citizen contribution and the dynamic viewing of archived data. This initiative aims to enhance the value of Brussels land while promoting a better understanding of its evolution and potential for sustainable use.
