Theme 2024

Through its 2024 cultural programme, Urban invites you to reflect on the theme materiality: Focusing on the materiality of the city, its materials, and their surroundings means studying, analyzing, and becoming aware of their presence, intrinsic characteristics, history, and often multifaceted—social and cultural—meanings, as well as their potential for more diverse and improved use in the future.

Echoing this reflection, MATERIAL ASSEMBLY, the theme chosen for archiweek, is an invitation to explore Brussels' architecture through its designers and craftsmen. The guided tours of projects and workshops will zoom in on the various hands coming together to shape the city, highlighting its rich material assembly.
