Urban Renewal Contracts: take part in the General Assemblies

Urban and Perspective invite you to take part in these information events, highlighting the progress of the Urban Renewal Contract (URC).

An Urban Renewal Contract (URC) is a programme that concentrates resources, energy and projects in a multi-community perimeter within the Urban Regeneration Zone (Zone de Revitalisation Urbaine – ZRU), with priority given to improving public spaces, creating infrastructure and housing, and enhancing environmental and economic quality.

The aim? Improving the living environment by creating parks, developing or renovating public spaces, improving the quality of housing and facilities, and even organising practical actions that contribute to social cohesion.

→ The URCs, driven by the Region, are carried out thanks to a collaboration between Urban, in charge of their operational implementation, and Perspective, responsible for their programming.

The first five URCs were launched in 2017. Work on the public space and real estate projects of these URCs will begin in the coming months. Each programme has benefited from a regional investment of €22,000,000. This budget is supplemented by other public and private budgets. Each of them is now the subject of new meetings with citizens to discover what adaptations have been made to the programmes.

Every URC has its own General Assembly!

These new General Assemblies (GA) are an opportunity to discover or rediscover the projects carried out under the URC programmes. Also information will be given about the state of progress of current operations, the next steps and any amendments to the programme approved by the Brussels Government in 2024. General Assemblies are open to all and provide a forum for sharing information as the URCs moves forward.

Practical information is provided below.
The programme for each GA will follow the same schedule:

→ 18:00 – 18:30 : Welcome
→ 18:30 – 19:30 : Presentation of project progress, programme modifications and assessment of social aspects
→ 19:30 – 20:30 : Question & answer session
