Working on decolonising public spaces in the Brussels Capital Region: reflection framework and recommendations
The task force examining the presence of colonial symbols in public spaces in the Brussels Capital Region, set up in September 2020 at the initiative of State Secretary Pascal Smet, has completed writing its report and has officially submitted it to Rachid Madrane, the president of the Brussels Regional Parliament, as well as to State Secretary Pascal Smet on Thursday 17 February 2022.
This report took fifteen months of research, reflection and debate by the experts appointed to do this, and offers a reflection framework and a series of recommendations for the Brussels government.
