"I am delighted with this second edition of the Brussels Architecture Prize. This cultural initiative showcases exemplary architectural achievements that help to construct and enhance our heritage. The BAP is in line with Urban's objective of raising awareness of the importance of high-quality architecture and contributes to the enhancement and influence of the Brussels Capital Region."
Bety Waknine, General Manager of Urban
The winners were revealed to the public at the awards ceremony for the second Brussels Architecture Prize.
Of the 170 submitted and 24 nominated projects, the international jury selected four winners in four categories (small intervention, major intervention, public space and extra muros), chose a rising talent for the Promising Young Architect Award and awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award with the support of the prize's scientific committee. The People's Choice Award was also presented during the evening.
The international jury was made up of Dorte Mandrup (President of the jury, Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter A/S, Copenhagen), Markus Bader (raumlabor, Berlin), Meriem Chabani (New South, Paris), Kaye Geipel (Bauwelt, Berlin), Eva Prats (Flores y Prats Arquitectos, Barcelona) and Job Floris (Monadnock, Rotterdam).

Promising Young Architect Award
This year's prize for the most promising young Brussels office went to Laura Muyldermans. She convinced the jury with her versatile, socially committed work – ranging from art installations to conversion architecture – and her fresh take on the urgent issues facing contemporary architecture.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This year, the Lifetime Achievement Award is being given simultaneously to Bob Van Reeth, Olivier Bastin and Chantal Dassonville. As "Bouwmeesters", they have given birth to a new architectural culture, each in their own way. Enlightened commissioning has always been at the heart of their concerns. Good architecture starts with a good conversation, clear ambitions and good procedures. Only then can the architect do his job.
