Launched in November 2020, the MyPermit Urban portal lets you submit and track your planning permit application electronically. In June 2023, the platform also became available for municipal permit applications for the 6 pilot municipalities (Berchem-Saint-Agathe, Evere, Koekelberg, Molenbeek, Schaerbeek, Woluwé-Saint-Lambert). Since then, the majority of regional applications (over 3/4 of applications) have been submitted to urban.brussels electronically, and 1/4 of municipal applications are now submitted via MyPermit.
After these wonderful results, made possible thanks to the collaborative efforts of the pilot municipalities and all the other stakeholders, we're delighted to welcome 11 more municipalities on board.
As of today, 21 November 2023, Anderlecht, Auderghem, the City of Brussels, Etterbeek, Forest, Ganshoren, Jette, Saint-Gilles, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Uccle and Watermael-Boitsfort are joining the MyPermit platform to offer applicants 100% electronic access and processing of municipal permit applications.
This new phase marks a further step in the optimisation of administrative processes, while maintaining the option of paper filing to ensure accessibility for all citizens.
From the outset, Urban has been keen to work hand-in-hand with the municipalities to best prepare them for the introduction of electronic planning permit applications. Urban has set up specific support services to assist all municipalities with this change, including process mapping, the supply of IT equipment and specific software, the establishment of a legal framework, and ad hoc training and communications.
Urban would therefore like to thank all the municipalities for their commitment in preparing this new stage.
What is MyPermit?
As an electronic one-stop shop, MyPermit offers applicants a 100% electronic process, making it easier to submit and track their application, thanks in particular to step-by-step guidance through the application form. Collaboration mechanisms are also available to facilitate collaboration and information sharing between the applicant and their architect.
As well as simplifying the process for the applicant, MyPermit also optimises appraisal procedures by digitising documents and providing platforms and tools for the various players involved.
Now available in 17 municipalities in the BCR, the MyPermit platform continues to evolve over time. There are already plans for improvements, taking into account feedback from applicants as well as partner administrations.
