In the frame of the exhibition about painter, poster artist and decorator Privat Livemont (1861-1936) at the Maison Autrique, the municipality of Schaerbeek is teaming up with Urban to organise a series of lectures by specialists, in French, to provide more insight in the wealth of the artist’s work. Mark your calendar!
- 6 November - “Privat Livemont, street artist et décorateur d’exception” (Privat Livemont, street artist and exceptional decorator) by B. Schoonbroodt, specialist in Livemont’s work
- 27 November - “La naissance d’ornements inédits: Horta, Hankar, van de Velde et Livemont” (The emergence of novelty ornaments: Horta, Hankar, van de Velde and Livemont) by B. Zurstrassen, curator of the Horta Museum
- 11 December - “L’école industrielle de Schaerbeek, un vivier d’artistes” (The Schaerbeek industrial school, a hotbed of artists) by Aline Wachtelaer, Doctor of Art History and archivist at the municipality of Schaerbeek
These lectures are all free of charge and will take place at 6.30 p.m. at the Schaerbeek town hall (Wedding Hall), except the lecture on 11 December, which will be held at the Ecole 1, rue Josaphat 229.
